The H1N1 flu has touched tennis.
Tommy Haas has come down with H1N1 (also known as the swine flu) according to the German daily Bild. The 31-year-old Haas, who lives in Bradenton, Florida, said he felt it during the Stockholm event last month.
"I started feeling unwell last week during the tournament in Stockholm," Haas told Bild in comments published by the AFP. "My throat felt rough, I had shivers during the night and a fever. For three days I really felt bad and I couldn't even manage to get out of my hotel room."
The Wimbledon semifinalist underwent tests in Munich that revealed he had the virus. Haas said he is hopeful he can return to the court soon.
"When you are someone who is as physically fit a I am you can quite easily get over this flu," said Haas.
